LUXU STUDIO is a dynamic young design studio that bridges contemporary building design, fine arts
and landscape design with urban design.
Lu Xu is the principal of LUXU STUDIO, and has an extensive background in fine arts and design.
A passion for watercolor painting, sketching and sculpture helped build the artistic foundation for
her urban design work.
Lu holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the renowned Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing,
China, where fine art study was integral to the curriculum – a departure from other traditional
architecture schools in China. Her drive and enthusiasm for exploring new design opportunities
prompted Lu to relocate to Canada and pursue her Master of Landscape Architecture at the
University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, which she completed in 2005.
Throughout her career Lu has gained practical experience by working with a number of
internationally prestigious firms including Belt Collins, Phillips Farevaag Smallenberg, Civitas,
Botao Peddle Thorp, Siemens, etc.
LUXU STUDIO is currently seeking new opportunities where our energy, experience and enthusiasm
can be used to help create new and exciting urban places.
